The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is the oldest social service organization in the country that serves adults and seniors who are blind or visually impaired.  Founded in 1903 as the Massachusetts Association for Promoting the Interest of the Adult Blind,  today our dedicated team, volunteers and support groups are here to support those who are aging into vision loss.

The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired-originally founded as the Massachusetts Association for Promoting the Interests of the Adult Blind-is one of the oldest organizations in the country supporting adults who are blind or losing their vision. Founded in 1903 by an all-volunteer group of prominent Bostonians, MAB has grown into to a multi-million dollar agency employing hundreds of professionals, advocates, and volunteers.

Each member provides specialized knowledge, and together we offer the best possible services for clients seeking support and information. We’re here to help all Massachusetts residents with vision rehabilitation and many other services.

We’re working with leaders in human services, healthcare, technology, and public service to build the highest quality vision rehabilitation and assistive technology services in the country.
